Now my friend isn't coming, something about having to be at my house at 7 a.m. then having a hard time sleeping in the car both ways with the top down and all the noise...wimp! LOL

I need to know;
can we bring our own 10 x 10 ez-up pavilions to setup there?
what is needed for the event? foodwise...
OBVIOUSLY the rum tote has to stay here,... :(
is the toothing any better here than at the alhambra site?
can we rig a line of dive flags anchored from shore say, to 600' out with sand anchors? kind of as a pull line out and back.
somebody call me please or post who I can call and get some more info...
attendees Deepseawolf, Maneater, and Brandon... (who has a new dive nickname)...
upgraded from Lil B to HAMMERHEAD!!!

I added you to the list with some items to bring. A few canned goods, and a couple rolls of papertowels, and perhaps a bag of chips & dip, unless you or anyone else see's something you think we are missin' :) I tried to phone the house and it just rang and rang so I tried the cell and it said you hadn't set-up your mailbox. :confused4:

Also, I have good news and bad news. Bad news first; Bob w/ BlueWaterExplorers will not be able to do the boat rides tomorrow. The winds are going to be too high for the boat to come that close to shore. The good news; tomorrow is almost here.
Hey, just be aware that out of all these amazing turkey fry dives, the first one that anyone really got to dive and recover fossils was last year.. traditionally speaking it was our ScubaBoard way to get together as a group to celebrate the holidays with our divebuddies, on the beach, snackin potluck style complete with fried turkey. To dive and have vis enough to see the bottom and find something(!) is truely something to give thanks for at this annual event.

Of course, the company is the true gift of thanks here. :)

The panzie! They'll miss amazing fried turkey and many other fine edibles!

Most of you already know that the pertinent information is in the first post but I thought I'd just toss the address out again and the main info on the spot:

The address per our contact AnnMarie, Program Coordinator/Beaches
Sarasota County Parks and Recreation is:
1600 Harbor Drive, Venice FL 34285

A couple of notes on our permit:
Site South of last dune walk-over @ Sharky's Restaurant - south of pier
Use of 2-pole shelters at walkover for fryers (not permitted on beach)
10x20 Tent
No glass, no alcohol
**This is a clean-up so please while collecting your treasure - pick up any trash, line, etc. you find on your dive
Clean-up and luncheon debris may be disposed of in dumpster at S. Broahard Beach, just south of event site on Harbor Drive.
Pack In/Pack Out - Leave no trace

I think CardZard is calling some people out :D

I'll be there, with the yak ready to get wet. The wind is predicted to be 10-15 from the south, incoming tide most of the day, winds most of this week have been from the east so we should have diveable viz. The surface water temp at the pier today was 64 so bottom temp should be 61-62. 5mm should be the minimum thermal protection. I'm bringing some chem-heat packs if anyone gets too chilled. Also two tanks, extra weights, and a spare flag.

We were just cleared to make it but need 2x BC's, 2x wetsuits, 2x regulators and 4x single tanks. Our local dive shop will not be open until 10am. What time will everyone be diving and until when? We would much rather rent from down that way so we can get in the water earlier. We are located in S. Tampa and will be bringing 3 kids (3, 7, 10). What kind of food is still needed?
