So they are willing to make an exception to their policy and accommodate your request. Sounds reasonable
 
Sorry it didn’t come together for you, but it sounds like they were eventually willing to work with you to match your desired schedule. For others in the future, I strongly encourage you to call and discuss your needs with them. I have never had them turn down a non-Sat to Sat itinerary after discussing my “why”.
