This is the first time since the 80's that no team from the state of Florida is in the top 25.

I didn't get to watch the game... actually, I think I found a convenient excuse to avoid it! :D We have a stinking tough schedule: just like EVERY SEC team.

Yes, I was at the mall shopping with the GF and her daughters. Saw that one coming...

How'd you like LSU pulling a Tebow jump pass? Didn't look as nice, but it worked.

I didn't think Spurrier would actually do it....

South Carolina kicks quarterback Stephen Garcia off team

Garcia is said to have failed a test for alcohol, which he had reportedly agreed to undergo periodically. He had been suspended several times.

Stephen Garcia won't get a sixth chance to play quarterback for No. 15 South Carolina.

Garcia, who had been suspended and brought back to the team five previous times, was dismissed Tuesday for failing an alcohol test, a person familiar with the decision said. The person spoke to the Associated Press on condition of anonymity because South Carolina had not announced specifically why Garcia had been kicked off the team.

The person told the AP that Garcia had agreed to undergo periodic tests for the presence of any alcohol as a condition of his reinstatement.

Athletic Director Eric Hyman would say only that Garcia was released after the fifth-year senior failed to meet agreed-upon guidelines.

"Being a student-athlete at the University of South Carolina is a privilege, not a right, and we remind all of our student-athletes that there are consequences for their actions," Hyman said in a statement.

Garcia told the AP in a text message Tuesday that he was "shocked and completely flabbergasted to be honest" by the dismissal.

The quarterback was suspended from all team activities in April for unacceptable conduct at a life-skills seminar. He was conditionally approved to work out with teammates in May, then reinstated fully last August just before football camp began.

Garcia started 34 games, including four this season, for the Gamecocks since arriving on campus in January 2007. He was demoted to second string behind sophomore Connor Shaw on Oct. 3 by Spurrier for inconsistent play and did not take part in a 54-3 blowout of Kentucky on Saturday.

The dismissal ends a turbulent tenure for the once-promising quarterback, who helped the Gamecocks to the Southeastern Conference Eastern Division title and was expected to do it again this season.

He passed for 3,059 yards and 20 touchdowns a year ago as the Gamecocks played in their first SEC championship game.

Maybe the Gators have a chance to win against SC now. :ijs:

They've got a chance.... a decent Chance.

I'm betting that will be decided on Oct 29th in Jacksonville, a known site for the Worlds Largest Cocktail party.

Both teams are 4-2, but Florida is 2-2 in Conference and Georgia is 3-1. Georgia should arrive in Jacksonville 5-2 (4-1 on conf) after next week with Vandy.

Auburn/Florida are still too much up in the air. Both teams have the opportunity to screw up and loose it.

Anyone know who's picked for Auburn vs Florida by the betting agents? (I can't see the betting sheets because they are blocked at work. Only one I can see has Florida predicted to win. Which makes sense since Auburn's quarterback can't seem to throw the ball and the receivers sure as hell can't catch it, even if it hits their hands...)

As SC has already beaten UGA, the pivotal game looks to be against Florida and SC IMO...
