I have a SP MK 18 1st stage that I am thinking to use as a part of Argon dry suit inflations system (w/OPV). I know that it might be a bit of an over kill as it is a high performance diaphragm reg w/swivel, but any issues in using this reg?

Also any problems with switching it back to breathing gas reg on occasion?

The MK18 will function just fine, though it's a little bigger than I'd like and might get in the way and puts out a lot of gas. Argon is a fairly "dirty" gas so I'd have it cleaned before using it for high O2 mixes, otherwise no problem switching back and forth.

There are several regulators designed for Ar bottles (cheap, smaller profile, lower pressure, fewer ports) that you might be happier with. Salvo makes a good one:
