    Zeagle Doesn't Know the Words

MY Dive Rite RG-2500s will do something similar if I take a deep breathe on the surface...as stated before the lack of dampening allows the diaphragm to move around too much...I wouldn't worry about it if the reg is otherwise performing properly and has been properly serviced.

    excessive heat

My buddy and I had a really easy time with a neck seal on one suit, and have had a lot of trouble since (probably done about four neck seals now). We have a theory that perhaps excessive heat from the heat gun, while not causing any visible damage to the fabric, is "warping" the fabric such...

Need Official paper work on HEISER 190

I'm nw-diver's buddy with the Heiser 95. Turns out they typo'd the serial number (transposed the last two digits) in their email, so I had to email again for confirmation. Once again a very quick reply: He also included a PDF of the legal certification documents for the entire batch of...

Don't replace a neck seal in a hurry...

I dove it this morning. 2 dives, about 35 minutes each. No leaks. Seems OK so far...

Don't replace a neck seal in a hurry...

I did a beautiful job replacing my CF200 neck seal (considering I only had the ring on the seal, and couldn't get the suit clamped down flat)... ...But I glued the seal inside the suit...right side out. So once it's pulled through the neck opening...it's inside out. Anyone see a problem with...

    scubapro manifold service

I picked up a scubapro manifold to double up some 72s. Took it apart and cleaned it up--figured I'd replace the o-rings and packing washer while I'm in there. I can't locate an official scubapro service kit, but I understand a lot of valve parts are interchangeable. I think this manifold...

    USIA wrist seal replacement

Yeah, Underwater Sports in Seattle would be a good place to take it. If you want to learn to do seals yourself, Northwest Outdoor Center (Seattle kayak lessons, rentals, sales located on Lake Union near downtown Seattle at Northwest Outdoor Center, NWOC. Demo Sea or Whitewater Kayaks and...

    Mushroom valve source

Hi folks, I'm not a rebreather diver, but I'm in need of some mushroom valves for making p-valves for my buddies and I. I've googled but haven't been able to come up with a source. Are they available at a reasonable cost from rebreather manufacturers, or do you know of another source...

    vytec noise (acoustic)

update: transmitter has been off the tank for about 10 minutes now and has stopped making noise. The manual says it will shut off after tank pressure has dropped below 145psi, but I guess it waits a minute or two to completely shut down.

    vytec noise (acoustic)

I was checking for leaks in my first stage after reconfiguring the hoses, and heard a rhythmic ticking coming from the vytec wireless transmitter (very faint). I hear it even when the tank is disconnected. I'm assuming this is normal as it works fine. I was just wondering if anyone else has...

    DIY Compression tester?

I hear corny kegs (5 gallon soda/beer kegs) work well, if you have any friends that brew they could hook you up. Sometimes good deals can be found on used ones, too. Kind of a small opening on the top so might not work for a lot of cameras... corny kegs are rated up to 130psi.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'll get some PB-300 (thankfully it's available locally from the kayak shops) and go from there. Thanks!! Matt

    glues for cf200 and tri-lam

I need to do a number of seal replacements on my own suit and for all my dive buddies that just bought drysuits. I've replaced seals on surface drysuits, so I know it's not rocket science. We use aquaseal on surface suits (mostly bi/tri-lam), but apparently that's not the ideal glue for...

    Preserving adhesives

Just an update to my original response: aquaseal is not solvent-*based*--it contains solvents (mostly toluene) but cures in the presence of moisture. I'm not sure if the extended life in the freezer is related to solvent retention or some other aspect of the environment in your freezer...

    Conshelf 21 parts

Picked up an old Conshelf 21 for $30 that I'm going to use to develop my reg. servicing skills. I've checked ebay and various old threads here for parts sources, but coming up short so far. I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction or hook me up... vintagedoublehose seems...

    Preserving adhesives

Depends on the adhesive. Solvent based adhesives (like aquaseal) will keep longer in the freezer as the cold makes the solvent evaporate much more slowly. polyurethanes (I can't think of diving related examples, but 3m 4200 and 5200 are such adhesives) cure in the presence of moisture...

    Alkin W31 Compressor question

Why do we want to rely on the house breaker to protect the motor? Breakers are there to protect the house wiring from a device (usually multiple devices) drawing too much power and overheating the wires. The motor should have it's own fuse or breaker to shut itself down if it draws too much...

    Alkin W31 Compressor question

The "original" plug the OP described was a 220V 15-amp plug. These are common in the United States. The "dryer" plugs with the three wide blades are a 220v 30-amp plug. Replacing the 15-amp plug with a 30-amp plug was the right move (you would, however, never want to replace a 30-amp...

    First stage clone chart

Hi, this is my first post here (hi!) and my comment doesn't apply so much to regs in particular as to OEM manufacturers and re-branding in general. I've talked to folks that deal in this OEMs and re-branding for other products, and their position is that while OEMs may make the products...
