A little Conshelf porn for your Sunday morning. NIB. Appears to be a 1980. Am I violating any code by putting it into service at this point. Don't really need to as I have others but it's really pretty.

Nice pictures. One reason for my posting in this thread is that I had picked up some used Conshelf regs (of various designations) with the plastic U.S. Divers seconds. One of them does get used regularly. Never had an issue with it. I know that you can pick up anything online if you try hard enough, and there are still people that can service them. But it is just bizarre that such a standardized design would no longer have "official" support.

HOG isn't liberal with parts, they just don't regulate the sale of service kits and such by their retailers. Unlike many of the other brands, it is up to the retailer to determine if they will sell HOG kits to the general public. Check out the Divers Supply website, they own (in whole or in part) Edge-HOG....they do not have service kits for sale on their website.

I bought a Hog reg from Dive Right In Scuba several years ago and freely bought a few service kits to go along with it bo problem. IDK if they are still that loose with selling kits but I bought it through their website and kits were completely unrestricted.

If Conshelf kits are being shut down then what do they plan on doing about pre 2007 Titan kits?
From what I understand they are the same kit.
Does that mean that Titan owners are SOL too?

That is beautiful! I would dive it... carefully and with great care taken on the post dive rinsing. They're made to be used!

And yes, the 80 XXXXXX serial number denotes a 1980 manufacture date.

okrunner, that box full of Conshelf XIV regulator is dangerous! Aqua Lung says so! You should send it to me for proper disposal. I’ll even provide postage. Don’t thank me, it’s my duty to a fellow Scuba Board member.

Other than the box, that’s identical to the one I purchased in new or like new condition about 1994 or so, right down to the 80 XXXXX range of the serial number. As long as folks like rsingler are still active, I plan to dive mine until I’m permanently underground instead of underwater. Mine is the dangerous villainous reg that started this whole thread!

Please.... get your facts before posting. First Divers Supply is a seperate entity from EDGE-HOG that happens to share the same warehouse. There are some owners involved in both companies but EDGE-HOG is expected and run to stand on its own. Do they source from the same manufacture? But like its been dicussed many times on this board most dive gear is sourced form just a few manufacturers. I always found it fun to see how many times I would see the exact same mask, fin, BCD and even regulators at a dive show just with a different manufacturers name on it. If you have ever been to DEMA then you can even see those manufacturers lines without the brand name you are familiar with.

Second is up to the individual dealer/retailers to decide if they want to sell sevice kits and parts. Edge-HOG is not preventing this. From what I understand just like many manufacturers you cannot buy anything on the website you need to find a dealer/retailer to purchase. As far as Divers Supply not having parts on their website I am not sure why that is but it is their decision not Edge-HOG. Dive Right In Scuba is selling service kits and second stage diaphrams as well as a few other items for repair. It is a lot of work to get items added to online store and maitain the updated inventory. As a small dealer myself there is no way I would get involved in selling parts but I do try to maintain an inventory of service kits for my customers. I gladly would sell parts and service kits to anyone who needs one just understand that there are no returns as I have no idea of your technical ability and I inspect the kits and parts before I send them.
