DiveRite recently brought a new side-mount harness to the NSS-CDS winter workshop, it’s called the Nomad Ray I believe. It’s similar in style to the Xdeep or Katana 2. It’s currently soft launched and I would imagine they will be officially releasing it in the next couple months.
I need details!

I am a Xdeep fan but Finn Sub has really good quality stuff, one of those wings can be used with conventional backplate and harness setup;

Also Halcyon recently made their SM rig.
my problem with Fin Sub is that it has a backplate. That is not what I want when in sidemount. It takes away the mobility I love and also makes tight restrictions more dangerous IMO.

As for anything Halcyon, nope. They make some good gear but I can't bring myself to buy it.

I love my XDeep too and was a huge fan but I have been turned off in the past 6-8 months by the company.

Looks like the fly side has a backplate, but the speleo does not

I see the Speleo uses continuous bungee. Do you, or anyone else know if it is possible to change it over to independent loop bungees? Not sure how the bungees are run through it due to very little info on their site but it does look intriguing.

I'd communicate with the Finnsub people, they are friendly and answer questions promptly.

Anyone here used a rig with inside valves? Seems like it would be uncomfortable. I don't know what I don't know and all the rigs I have used have had outside valves.

There is another model which is conventional SM rig.
