I have always been a spitter, which has generally worked well for me. However on my last trip one of the dive crew sprayed some of his anti-fog spray into my mask while it was on the bench next to me, I think it was diluted baby shampoo. Worked well and I am now a convert.

I have only had one mask that I couldn’t stop fogging up. I think it was an Oceanic Shadow, I tried everything with it, and no matter what I did it would steam up mid-dive. I tried every cleaning tip, and every spray I could find and it made no difference. In the end the mask went in the bin.

Since it's collecting dust in the bin, try to flame it (burning the silicone coating off the tempered glass lens) and let us know the outcome.

I suspect that “went in the bin” meant it went in the trash!:)

When I bought my mask (Atomic Ultraclear) a few years ago, LDS owner flamed it in front of me, before handing the mask to me. That's what a good LDS should do to his customer.

Yes it was thrown away with the rubbish. I did try the flame treatment a few times, it also went through the dishwasher at least twice. Well rubbed with toothpaste as well before all that.

500 PSI for me as baby shampoo and spit never work for me. Be careful with the burning of the lenses as some have a coating on them and if you flame it the coating is toast.

Ladies don’t spit.

500 psi is great.
