IC supply chain issues are nuts. Designing circuits for work and getting lead-times as far out as 68 weeks for simply ICs. Then factor in the cost increase of over 50% of what we used to pay for them.

All new computer prices will be going up, and computers alot of circuits will need to be redesigned due to increase of end-of-life parts. If the companies didn't have foresight in their part selection, inventory lead-times will increase.

No doubt and warranty resolution can take longer. Might need double back ups!

Cool, but it's targeted at a pretty thin market, tech divers using multiple gas mixtures that demand AI. I wonder how big that market really is

And apologies to all for my misdiagnosis of Shearwater's strategy. The Perdix AI 1 is dead, long live #2. Shearwater gets to increase its margins, take control of the transmitters, and deliver more functionality.

Don't forget that people will buy functionality they will never use, because someday they may use it. I'm guilty of doing that with my first computer. Got one that was Nitrox ready. By the time I got into Nitrox I had progressed to better computers.

Does de Perdix #2 still accepts the Aqualung or old type of transmitter?
For me the haptic alarms would be nice but not worth the upgrade at the moment.

Yes - because the Perdix 2 uses the Swift transmitter.

The Swift transmitter remains an MH8A-type transmitter.

List of Perdix AI compatible transmitters

Hey all. I've been hunting high and low for some list of compatible transmitters. I know the Oceanic ones are compatible, what about the Tusa Zen? The Mares HD? If anyone has some info on this then I can start to compile a list to put as a sticky in the relevant forum. Thanks in advance...

I know the Perdix one is taking the generic transmitters as its own. But last year or the year before rumors were going around the Shearwaters would be only accepting their own sensors in the "near" future as in some kind of serial number range available.

The SWIFT's look nice but at the moment they are not worth the price of around 400 euro if I've got a working other "old" version and not looking into a second.

The Perdix 2 page only compares/contrasts to the Petrel and then with the Teric & Peregrine.

Why are they going out of their way to avoid comparing it with its predecessor - the Perdix 1 ?

Because they added what, 1, maybe 2 new functional features? Alarm and, well, alarm. Then lipstick on it?
