you'd be surprised at how many sidemount cave divers are using AI these days. It's a game changer on long range stuff where you are on a DPV since you have to come off the trigger to check SPG's in sidemount as its a 2-hand operation.

Spot on! Like most I use to frown at transmitters but now I use them all the time. Game changer for scootering!!! Additionally I use them on my rebreathers and you would be surprised how many rebreather divers are adding them onto there units as well.

The titanium bezel isn’t necessary, they just needed something to justify the ~$100 USD price hike.

I would disagree (I don't actually like the gray look of the Ti bezel) I think it is very justifiable. If you do a lot of cave diving check your bezel especially if you have a older Petrel. The edges on mine are all chipped up and take the most amount of wear and I have 2 friends that have Perdix's that have a crack on the bezel going into one of the corner screw holes.

Ti (or any metal) bezel solves this problem. Think it the main reason when the switched the Petrel a while ago and now it seems like it caught on with the Perdix.

I like the glass lens instead of plastic. Will be interesting to see one of these in the wild, or even a show and not just online.

The Perdix 2 page only compares/contrasts to the Petrel and then with the Teric & Peregrine.

Why are they going out of their way to avoid comparing it with its predecessor - the Perdix 1 ?

The Perdix 1 and Petrel 2 are discontinued. Moving forward the only option will be the Perdix 2 and Petrel 3.

Be curious how much the alert and new screen on perdix 2 influence battery

The alerts should not have an impact on the battery. How often do you plan on the alerts actually going off during a dive? Does having vibrate on your phone reduce battery life?

Screen technology generally means more efficient, hopefully this is the case here.

Don't see anything here that says I have to have it. Happy with my old stuff.
