This will be an upgrade that I will make. I have been waiting for a fischer cable enabled Petrel with AI so I can ditch SPGs on my rebreather. I didn't really want a NERD although I know everyone raves about them.

I am very much looking forward to vibration alarms as bonus. This was a feature on the Divesoft computer that I really wanted. I haven't looked through the manual yet but I am hoping I can set vibrating alarms for low / high ppO2.

EDIT: Read the manual. Looks like it requires a lithium battery for vibration alarms to function (not a big deal). There are list of primary notifications that will cause it to vibrate and it seems you toggle off some of the ones you don't want. For example, I don't really care about Time Limits, Low NDLs or Fast Ascent. The main ones I want are high / low ppO2.

The alerts should not have an impact on the battery. How often do you plan on the alerts actually going off during a dive?

My alerts go off about five times a dive. Start and end of the dive. Enter and clear deco. And finally an alert about two minutes into the dive that it doesn't see my transmitter(s) on my other rig.

You can turn the haptic and audible alerts (on the Teric) on and off both by type and overall. So for example all but the transmitter alerts are blue info notifications, while the transmitter alert is a yellow warning. So I can set the info notices to not have any alarm just pop up on screen, while setting the warnings to have alarms. Or just turn it off altogether.

I just leave both on, it really doesn't beep at me unless it is things that I want to know about.

Is a teric 2 on the horizon?
I haven't heard anything about that. What features would you be looking for in it? Pretty happy with mine as-is.

There is always room for improvement. Replaceable battery. Different straps perhaps, who knows. Plenty of happy perdix owners and they improved it.

Yeah, I could see user-replaceable batteries being a nice plus for me (OC rec). And I have heard from many tech divers that it is a dealbreaker for them, so, that'd be a substantial improvement. Not saying that it's perfect, by the way, just wondering what improvements people have in mind.

I really like my perdix but do want the vibrate alarm. A back up teric would fix that but I certainly don’t want one if another model is coming out.

Cool, but it's targeted at a pretty thin market, tech divers using multiple gas mixtures that demand AI. I wonder how big that market really is

I would believe that Shearwater did research and found enough customers would want the features it offers.
