Does the LX20+ work if one has a ring system on the drysuit? It looks like it might protrude quite a bit on the back and that it might catch the rings? :/

I have used it with rings a fair amount. Never had an issue.

Update: I ended up buying a couple of the DiveRite LX20+ for my wife and I for travel lights. They have been working well for us and it's nice to ditch the light cord / canister when diving sidemount.

They are plenty bright for our typical dives on medium or high.

Would you happen to have pictures and can you compare to your DGX or other lights? How are you liking the soft goodman handle that comes with the LX20+? Is it possible to lock the quick release so I don't accidentally bump it and drop the light?

I'm also looking for a primary and my choices are similar to yours. Thanks!

Yes, there is a lock on the QRM. The soft goodman is fab. I use it instead of the hard goodman that came with my new can light.

Another vote for the Dive Rite LX 20. The Soft Mount does have a lock on the quick release mount and a plastic D ring on it. You could run a short loop of cave line attached to the D ring and attach the bolt snap on the back of the light to that D ring as secondary insurance that you will not lose your $500 light.

I think it also meets the OP requirements, as he probably found out by now. Enjoy.

The soft goodman handle does lock but I also bought a hard goodman handle for mine too.

I will try to take a picture of the different beams at some point.

I'm pretty happy with the LX20+

Are you all mounting this on your left hand and using the QRM when you need to switch hands? Or are you sliding off the soft glove?

Mine went on the right hand and stayed there. I don’t switch hands.
