Well I took the 1000-6 out for a dive yesterday. I butt clipped it, so I wasn't testing the lock (that will come later when I create a dedicated post), but I switched to it on the way back only using my primary for certain tasks where I needed/wanted to go hands free like running reels. I spent about an hour with it scootering around places I knew well, I mostly kept it on medium.

Reminds me a lot of the Halcyon Focus, really tight laser beam with minimal spill. I wasn't comparing it side by side but it probably has more spill than the Focus, more than enough for looking around for a line. I took it down both the Bone Line and the Hill 400 Line, they are two very different areas as the Bone is very black and dark and the Hill 400 is very white and bright. On the Hill 400 line I even encountered a fairly large amount of kicked up silt between the Bats and the far double lines jump and it just pushed through it like it was barely there. I was able to easily see the Wonder Tunnel line from the Bone 400 line.

I compared it to my EX35 and even on medium I can easily see the 1000-6's spot within the EX35's spill. Obviously a 4,000ish lumen light with a similar 6 degree spot will blow a 1,000ish lumen light's spot out of the water.

I'm going to be using this with the CX2 and the Orcatorch DC710, having all three spend time on my harness as a back up light over the summer and create a longer comparison post later this year.

Good report!
