Just another +1 on the Deep6 Eddy fins. I run with the EVO III/ IV rock boots and the fins are much easier to put on and off (over my F1s). No problems with comfort!

It sounds really tempting. Reviews so far seems very positive. But it is still too light for drysuit……

It depends, The F1s were great for single steel tank, but I found the Eddy was great for twins/sidemount/CCR.

The Eddy? Only for twinsets

I have the Deep6 Eddy, the Hollis F1 LT, and the Hollis F1. I have never tried any Mares fins. I have done a dive with ScubaPro Jet fins and also tried Dive Rite XT and OMS Slipstreams in a pool.

The Deep6 fins are basically neutral (buoyancy in fresh water).

The F1 LT fins are 1# negative (size Regular, in fresh water).

The F1 fins are 2# negative (size Extra Large, in fresh water).

I think they are all very good fins. To me, they are all very comfortable on my feet. The Deep6 fins are maybe just a teeny tiny bit more comfortable than the Hollis fins, but the Hollis fins are very comfortable. I do not choose any of them over the other because of any difference in foot pocket comfort. I use whichever pair of fins has the best buoyancy for my needs for the specific dive I'm doing.

E.g. in my drysuit, always the Hollis F1, because my feet are floaty, no matter what else I'm diving. I use the F1 LT fins when I'm diving in a wetsuit with double steels. Doubles make me a little head-heavy and the LTs compensate perfectly for me. I use the Eddy fins when diving in a wetsuit and single tank, sidemount, or my CCR.

I did one 60 minute dive with the SP Jets. I liked the way they kicked, as far as power and control. I did not like the feel of the foot pocket at all. They were a bit uncomfortable on my foot (after a little bit of time in the water) and for whatever reason they made my feet want to cramp before the end of the dive. I have never gotten foot cramps with any of my own fins. I did a surface interval and then another dive back in my Deep6 fins - with no foot cramps, so I do believe it was the fins and not just a bad day for my feet.

Could compare how the DR XTs and the OMS Slipstreams felt in the pool to the F1, F1 LT and the Eddy like you did for the Jets?

Very detailed sharing! Thank you. So this seems like with a softer foot pocket doesnt always mean a more comfortable fin. And you are totally right, different fin for different gear and suit combination for different scenario. Thanks again!

Sorry to revive an old thread. Would you be able to comment on the ability to flutter kick between the Eddy, F1 LT, and DR XT? The Eddy is my only fin I own and have done hundreds of dives with it. I almost exclusively frog, heli, back kick. Flutter kicking for long surface swims or strong current seems to be lacking however. I have been searching for an addition fin setup that is easier to flutter kick with and has more efficiency for long surface swims/strong currents for those specific dives. Thanks
