Hi guys~ i know there were alot of discussion between the mares Power plana, hollis F1 and deep 6 Eddy. However i still consider starting a new thread because i have my issues and i can hardly really touch these fins before making a purchase, would really hope to get some ideas before actually buying any of them.

Let me give some background here:
I first aimed at the mares power plana because it is shorter than my current fins:
mares avanti quattro plus. I dive with them without any ankle weight in dry suit. Hence i don't think i need anything lot more heavier. I like the mares foot pocket, the material makes it so comfortable. I wasn't aware of that until i tried aqua lung rk3, the hard rubber on the edge really hurt my top of the feet when kicking. And the rk3 is too heavy for me.

Hollis F1 is popular here but not it's little brother F1 LT. As i said i don't need extra weight from the fins, i find the F1 could be too heavy for me. But what about the FT? They look just as good, but how is it compare to the power plana? Is the foot pocket soft or is it hard like the rubber fins?

Then i came across the deep 6eddy yesterday. People praise the foot pocket compare to other fins alike (i guess they are talking about the rk3 or jet fin, etc). But is it still hard like other rubber fins, only shaped differently? The deep 6 eddy seems a little too light for me for dry suit, although it could always become my wetsuit fins, who knows?

Since they are all not "low price", would really like to know the details before making a purchase. Any information will be highly appreciated.

I am not diving anything technical, not evening to become a DM. So all i am looking for is a shorter pair of fins so that i can dive wrecks with, some power to go against current, yet comfortable to wear.

Thanks a lot~in advance~

I am a cold water diver and I use the Eddy fins when I dive sidemount and a single tank in my back, For twinset, I use the Hollis F1

Thanks for the tip! I read this thread before, but only watched the video now (didn't know that was a link to video before). Cannot believe the foot pocket of eddy is so so so solid, looks like i will have to give it up even the blue fins look very pretty… and turns out the jet fin is not as bad as i thought. Hollie f1 is worse…

People say size sm made with a softer material, i wonder how much softer is it compare to the the size L? Does it make a different?

You should give them a try. It is possible to make them molded for your feet.

I disagree. I've had mine on several trips with 5mm booties and had no issues at all. They're the best fins I've ever had.
I also saw people mentioned addinh extra paddinh to avoid hurting the feet… well because i only weat 3mm booties, i was worried that's gotta hurt…

Any idea on the Hollis F1 LT? What's not good about it? Why is people talking about F1 alot but not the LT? Is it really that bad?

I had a pair and sold them because they weren't all that much lighter than the F1s. At the time I was looking for something lighter for warm water single tank diving.

Is that right?! Thx for the info. How does it feel when kicking? Does it hurt your feet?
