Should the hunting forum be a closed/club forum?

Someone reported YOUR post... just that simple. Did the mod go back and read the entire thread? Possibly. They may have merely focused on the one post!

It's a HUGE board... we have only 50 moderators and we average over a 1000 posts a day. We rely heavily on our USERS to point out problems. The squeaky wheel gets the lube, ya know.

BTW, the otopus thread has been cleaned and returned. Wasn't that simple?

here is the verdict on this idea:
We don't want to make such a drastic change at this point. Making a forum opt in diminishes its appeal and we want to attract users to it. However fights diminish a forums appeal as well so we want to eliminate them. We want your help in doing that.

If someone tries to start an argument about hunting in this forum we expect you to:
1) repond to them politely in a PM and point out the forum rules
2) use the report post feature if that fails to produce a satisfactory result
3) stop taking octopus.

THanx Pete and Pug.I prefer the open format as well.Anyone offended by the discussion of LEGAL hunting on a underwater hunting forum is looking to be offended.
Hunters can help by insuring that we conform to forum rules ,legal and ethical hunting practices.In this big of venue we are representing the sport to more than just other divers.Let's try not to come across as pirates of the sea or whiney when someone merely disagrees with us.Clearly stating facts and laws pertaining to our particular area goes a long way to perpetuating the position that we are responsible stewards of the sea.If someone gets out of hand the Mod Squad are very keen to correct the offender and if they themselves are wrong quick to admit it.Very lucky to so many cultures and views to get along as well as we do.

Who moderates the moderators?

Hey, I don't claim to be the brains of the operation, just sayin how did I miss this.. between this and the octo thread it would have made watching the football games much more entertaining!

I'm not complaining though, I spent time looking through the photogallery here and am just amazed at the some of what is posted. There is one nudi pic that is just phenominal!
