Best diving computer on the Market

FYI, the Teric screen is 1.39" not 1.44".

FYI 1.39" is what SW refers to as the 'display size'. 40mm (1.57") is the size of the glass area of the screen (that's the size of the screen protector you NEED to buy when you buy your Teric).

To all the guys who have been using the Teric for a while, how easily is the black case marked? And if it is scratched, is it silver underneath and really stand out?

I've been careful with mine so none yet but when it picks anything white from the ocean there's a OMGoodness moment (just below the imminent trigger fish attack feeling).

One pic from the divers involved in the Thai cave rescue of a used looking Teric is this one. It was from an August (ABC) article of their local (Oz) cave dives but I think most of it looks like muck except some metallic looking parts.

The bottom line: I've read a lot of knocks on the Teric from people who are judging it based on looks but have not actually dived one. I think that is a mistake. Don't knock it until you have actually tried it.

I don't think I've yet seen a Teric owner ever complain about it.

I think I saw one Teric for sale by someone who said they decided to stick with their Perdix. But, just that one...

No it is just an operator who knows divers are responsible for diving their own parameters.
But of course, most of the divers have no clue about that and need a computer to tell them how to dive

There is certainly a degree of truth in that. The post about hitting ndl on the second dive could be because of the conservatism level he set. The computer is a tool and does just what you want it to do and the way you tell it to do it. Garbage in garbage out.

there are a lot that like suunto. as I understand it ,,,, it has a very liberal set of conservtive settings which give long NDL's

I would have to disagree, but only because if one wants WAI for one's recreational diving, the cost of that can push it over $250. Not by a kilobuck, though.

I was so happy when I lost my D4i so I could get a Shearwater. Even in REC mode it's superior.
