Here is another beautiful BHB critter - and a first time live for me anywhere. I just about lost my reg I was laughing so hard. I hope he thought I was just as funny looking. It was hard to hold the camera still. I took four pix to get this one reasonably good one.

The work of the creator never ceases to amaze me!

You are quite welcome! Glad we got to meet and dive! Fun stuff!

Just dove my last dive of 2013. I'd say viz was around 30ft, kind of dusty, with a bit of a current in some places. Water temp 75.

I found a real sweet spot - and as I finally turned around to retrieve my flag I discovered two huge octopuses finishing up "not fighting." Whoops! Pardon ME! Too bad I was so engrossed in the sh I didn't notice them until it was over.

Shana from Pura Vida posted on FB that they have "permission" to do a night dive tonight. I'm assuming that means if enough people are interested they will host one. Call the shop for more info.

Happy & Healthy New Year everyone!

That really hurts their feelings.

I've dove there maybe 30 times and still have not seen an octopus. Saw a lot of other things and plenty of stonefish but no octopus. Maybe in the morning.

Yes, just another (critter) reason the bridge is so special. Lots to be found at the bridge that is uncommon or rare anywhere else that can be found, sometimes in abundance at the bridge.

and.. why we trolls are so protective of "our" critters from collectors and those that want to harass or harm them.

Well, if Matt and I did not qualify as honorary trolls for the 3 consecutive days of BHB dives, we will still be honored to be considered defenders of the bridge! Can't wait for another season and more dives.

Here is another little guy we ran into as we were on the way out of the water right by the swimming area:

He was none too happy with all the traffic and tried to skedaddle as fast as he could... made him hard to catch in the camera field.

Bilsant and I met up for this morning's high tide. In spite of the somewhat overcast sky I can't think of a more beautiful way to ring in the new year. It was a gorgeous, zen dive. Two sh, two huge octopuses (yes, the "not fighting" pair from yesterday), two jaw fish (one with eggs), three reef squid, plus the usual cast of characters. Thanks, Bill, for joining me this NY's morning which also happened to be my #800 dive.

We ran into Jeff from Force E. They ARE sponsoring a night dive tonight, FYI, for anyone interested. Viz was around 30ft again (somewhat dusty) and water temp 75.

Thanks for the info about the nightdive, now it's a mad dash to charge batteries and make it to the 7pm entry time!
