Another vote for Le Chef Lobster Sandwich AND Burritos Gorditos!!

Another place I always seem to forget about for a nice night out - can also be very romantic is Panchos Backyard! I had New Years Eve dinner with a few girlfriends and it was REALLY good and VERY reasonable - beautiful atmosphere and excellent service! I had the Almond Crusted Mahi-Mahi and 2 glasses of wine for less than $20usd - worth every penny! Had dinner there again last night with another friend - dinner for 2 and a bottle of wine less than $50 USD!
The cilantro soup at Pancho's is something I always get there no matter what else I order. A few years ago my group was there during a lunar eclipse that we could see from our table. I like Pancho's a lot; it's on my list of must-do's on Cozumel.

Would love to hear a "trip report" or Buccaneros report later when you have time.

^^

Just under 3 weeks away and I am hungry after reading the last few posts... I should have skipped the all incl deal because I feel like I will be eating around a lot...

I can tell you that the $10 breakfast at Buccanos is to die for. Still haven't made it for dinner....

We had a lovely meal there although it is not inexpensive. Cost was about $60 US per person. We had a cocktail, shared an appetizer, and had main course, dessert and a couple of glasses of wine. Venue is stunning at night, service is outstanding, and food is tasty...lots of dishes I like! The owner-chef came out to our table to introduce herself and explain the specials. Taxi from El Centro was 80 pesos. Truly a lovely experience. Evening service is Fri/Sat only. I forgot to bring my camera...

Are you speaking of Pancho's? Pancho's is only open for dinner on Friday and Saturday? When did they start that? And why wouldn't you walk to it from the square? 80 pesos sounds like a lot for a ride of just a few blocks; maybe you are talking about another place.

Just like anywhere else, on Cozumel there is a continuum where you can eat cheap or you can eat well in a nice setting. Pancho's is not the priciest restaurant on the island, but it's certainly not the cheapest, either. I'll splurge on it once in a visit, though.

Thanks MMM! I had Buccanos on my tentative list...I put it in ink :)
