Went to the my bookmark for Florida Conch Divers this morning and found it didn't work. Then noticed the Conch Divers got removed from the forum name. Did I miss an announcement somewhere?
I'm savoy enough to figure it out, but FYI the forum when ya do this kinda stuff. :D

Good Diving,

Bah.
I prefer that the name be revised to "Everything Outside of L.A. in Florida" forum.

Chug
Not from the Conch Republic anyway.

Good Diving,

Savvy, it's Florida, not the Keys

Thanks your comments. When I was on staff this came up and I was in favor of changing it to just Florida then.....so ends the rest of the story.

Savvy......Got to love auto spell check

Good Diving,

Yes Gary,

The cute names for all of all of our regional forums are being simplified and for at least a couple of reasons...

  • SEO... Search Engines use the forum names extensively when providing people answers to questions. This will enable our guests to find things quickly.
  • Clarity... Quite often people mistake the regional forums to be club forums. This keeps them searching even after they have found the right spot.

While I am sure we announced this somewhere, my apologies if we didn't or if we didn't make it obvious enough.

I had one of these. I was a Savoy driver.

Now I'd rather be known as a savvy diver.

I had just noticed that Rocky Mountain Oysters, the regional forum I created just after joining ScubaBoard, had its name changed to Rocky Mountain Region. Ron Frank came up with the original name, which the founding members voted on. Sigh. I guess we all have to accept change and let forgotten history be forgotten history. Not many people knew what a Rocky Mountain Oyster is, anyway, so I guess it is for the better.

Thanks for clearing that up. I was worried that some "inland FL dive shops" were trying to put pressure on you again to remove the wording of "conch" because they didn't want Conch to make people think that the only diving was in the Keys.
