Happy New Year to everyone ! Lee, the Palm Beach county diving (mostly drift diving)
from north to south is Jupiter, W. Palm Beach, Boynton, and Boca Raton.
The Broward county diving from north to south is Deerfield Beach, Pompano Beach,
Fort Lauderdale, and Hollywood.

Spear Fishing: Jupiter! Emerald Charters is my favorite spear boat.
Reefs: Boynton! Underwater Explorers (ScubaKevDM) is my favorit. Have them take you to the Castor.
West Palm Beach: The Little Deeper!
Ft Lauderdale: The American Dream is my fav! Be sure to do Tenneco Towers.
Miami? Keep driving to Key Largo and hop on Capt Slate's boat. Force them to take you to Mike's Wreck. One of the best kept secrets in the Keys.

Which dive boat or dive shop is Capt Dan and Jim Atria with in Lauderdale? (I like wrecks, reefs, ledges, fossil beds, and drifts)
Capt. Dan and Jim Atria are wrecks, not dive boats or dive shops. Sea Experience will take you to them.

ps: I like taking my own flag. Makes for a MUCH better dive in my opinion because you are not constantly occupied with following the flag carrier. It also makes a controlled ascent MUCH easier.
Sea Experience will let you take your own flag.

DISCLAIMER: I don't work for SeaXP, but I've been diving with Capt. Bill Cole for nearly 30 years and nobody knows the local waters better. Great stable boat as well.

Reefs: Boynton! Underwater Explorers (ScubaKevDM) is my favorit. Have them take you to the Castor.
Two thumbs up for Underwater Explorers. The Castor is AWESOME, and all of the reef drift diving there totally rocks. :thumb:

I have been diving Jupiter for many years. I don't recall seeing anything that resembled a "wall" or had a title that suggested a wall. That sounds like a dive site that I have not found yet. Which dive boat goes to the "wall"? I usually use Jupiter Dive Center. If they go there, then I was not on the boat that particular day.

I am sure the dive being referred is the Hole-In-Wall dive site. Here is Emerald Charter owner (Randy Jordan) expertly cruising through...

Thanks Idive2. I have been diving mostly Palm Beach county, based on what you are saying. All of my dives in southern Florida have been drift dives. It sound like Broward county has some good sites also. I think I will put them on the list.

Hello NetDoc.... I have used UE in Boynton. Also used "Deeper" in Boynton. Excellent boat. Will target the Castor as time passes. Tks for the reference.

Have used the "Little Deeper" also. Good boat. Use to belong to Abernathy

Will definitely check out the American Dream and Tenneco Towers in Lauderdale. Thanks for the tip!

Why pass up Miami?

Will put Mike's Wreck on the list. Again, tks for the tip

There is also some awesome wreck diving in Miami-Dade county, but it seems the only charter people use down there is RJ Diving Ventures. He's been running charters down there for decades.

Scott,

Looks like a great dive but too deep for me. I dive in the 80 to 110 feet deep range. It is the range where I get the most bang for my recreational buck. I do not have the gear, training, experience, or desire, to do dives over 130. It is fine for others, its just not my cup of tea. The short bottom times and long deco's have no appeal to me. In addition I personally like a straight shot to the top. I have been diving long enough that I have had things go wrong. No tunnels, deep penetrations, or obligations for me. Just not my style or preference. Dont get me wrong. I do enjoy the video's and the knowledge we gain from the people that do that type diving.

ps: When playing poker, I don't draw to an inside straight either. Again, just my style.
