You still did not answer the question as to the capacity of the batteries that come with the light. Are they 1000 MHA, or are they 3000 MHA batteries. This will make a big difference as to the cost to get an extra set of batteries. Thank you for the run times though.

2200mAh

I have two.

I love this light.

It is small, well made, inexpensive, and bright.

Never had any problems with flooding.
Just make sure you check the front where you adjust the settings periodically at depth.

The only problem I had was the batteries that came with the light.
I left them in the light for a few weeks and they died....TOTALLY DEAD.......
They won't charge.....they are DEAD.
I had to go online and purchase new batteries.....the protected style.
The ones that came with the light weren't protected and I think that had alot to do with them trashing so quickly.
Keep that in mind when you order.
Buy extra batteries and buy the protected kind.

It's my understanding that the light is not actually off when in the Standby position. It still draws some current from the batteries and you're supposed to remove them from the light when not in use. That's probably why the cells died.

Hi folks

I have dove with this light ..and yes, Several people I know of have drovned their lights because the bezel-ring loosen while diving and water aloves to enter...

I am now trying to contact Dealextreme for a replacement... Meanwhile I am looking for spare parts for it...with no sucsess... I need new driver module and reflector..

So here goes.....

Not sure if this is a stupid question or not. Is there any reason that this could not be used as a primary dive light. I know that it is really small, does that matter? The battery life might be called into question. My solution would be to buy a few sets of extra batteries and would change them during the surface interval. Is the light going to be able to handle being on for an hour at a time?

Can anyone help? Has anyone used this as a primary?

i have used this for two night dives at a time as long as you're a bit conservative its fine. i used it as a primary, i had the light on for 2 hours straight and it had no issues (at room temperature)

it really depends what your definition of a primary is and for what type of diving you're doing. Clearly, if you're doing serious wreck penetration or heading inside of a cave - no way. If you're talking about shallow, recreational, night dives, yes, this dive light could be a primary.
HTH.
