Alan, if I'm reading the posts right, the event is still for April. I think Shawn wants to know who's coming by March 10.
Do I have it right, Shawn?
You are correct, the event will be the end of April.
RSVP in Mid March is plenty of time to customize, and organize and coordinate the event
for the TSD and family members that are firmed up in their committment to show up.
Example:
If 5 people show up, it is not worth it to organize the underwater poker run since it takes 2 support divers to prep, check and pickup the mesh bags in sequence to the dive buddies participating for the topside card game after retrieving your cards on the underwater course.
Likewise if 20 divers show up to participate then I need to get 10 decks of cards and not 5 decks of cards to play the card game.
I do not want to go to the 2 dive shop sponsors with events if participation does not match the sponsorship of the divers actively participating.
Depending on the serious TSD who are planning to show up, I will customize the event to that group of divers. No big deals in the swamp.
So March 10th is an RSVP date that will allow the organizing committee and sponsor dive shops and Lake Travis Scuba adequate time to match the fun to people.
Thanks for your inputs and feedback. All are welcome to join in and help or suggest idea's.
If enough interest is there I am thinking of adding a treasure hunt underwater to the weekend event.
I just want to make sure that if some people show up Friday and leave Saturday, and others show up Saturday or Sunday I can tailor fit the event to the largest group of divers showing up for the weekend.
Besides who wants to miss the bon fire party in the middle of the night. I really like watching the sky and looking for UFO's over Travis with the stars shining bright.
