I will probably be bringing my teenager. Will anyone else be bringing their kids? If so, we can plan some above water activities for them.

I like the scuba recall game.

:coffee:

scuba recall? Is that where the kid has to rescue their parent from the water?

Not that I have been involved with in the past.

Normally, a fun game is to ask scuba questions that are part of any basic scuba training program.

This can be tailored to scuba divers, all the folks, or snorkling questions for kids. Can include questions about the aquatic life of the local dive site, or objects underwater at that location. Sea conditions and the like.

The total points winner gets the prize.

This is all done topside on the surface intervals.

I have an idea I've been tossing around for quite a while now. I plan on using it in conjunction with a gathering sponsored by Christian Divers of Texas at an event in north-central Texas this spring, but it might be a good one for the Swampers Dive Gathering being planned at Lake Travis. It goes something like this...instead of a "traditional" treasure hunt with many smaller prizes, offer a single larger one. Those finding one of the underwater markers get their name put in a hat for that prize. However, the twist is that to get to participate in the hunt, divers must bring and contribute one or more pieces of new or used dive equipment, ALL of which will be donated to the Wounded Warriors Dive Program. Those soldiers and their instructors, I am told, are in constant need of equipment for the training and equipping of the program participants. It's a good cause, and I think we swampers could do a lot in supporting it while still having a blast.

Just a thought.

Natalie has been known to accompany me from time to time. She's always more popular at these things than I am, by the way. She'll be closing in on 6 come early summer.

If it is late in April as Shawn indicates I may just make it a day, been a long spell since I dove Travis, over a year--crap!
