My friend "Tim" sent in his letter (email) a day or two ago which included 7 positive comments about Kevin. Tim received an email back from a Brad Nolan asking and I quote "Please be more descriptive on why he is a great Divemaster".. Tim emailed both his email and Brad's response to me and I couldn't believe my eyes when I read them.

I actually counted the 7 positive comments about Kevin in what was a short but to the point email in appreciation for Kevin's professionalism etc. that he conducts as a dive charter and dive guide.

I'm really starting to wonder about all of this now. We're spending lot of time commending a professional that darn well better get his recognition if he wins this fair and square.

The contest spells out extremely vague and ambiguous requirements, these letters need to be "valid and worthy". And who's the judge of that? :shakehead:

Keep voting and email the strongest possible recommendations, let's see how it works out. Kev has the most votes, no reason to think he won't have the most letters and associated votes also.

Dive Chronicles really should acknowledge receipt of the letters and the addition of the corresponding 15 votes. This would contribute significantly to the transparency of the entire process. They do a good job of acknowledging weekly votes and you can see that your vote has been added.

Oy. I got off easy, I guess. All I received was a response asking for more info about me... namely address.

Of course, we could start off each letter with "It was a dark and stormy night..." and then write a story with Kev being the hero. :D

Does it go with a catchy little ditty that goes something like:

Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of a fateful trip
That started from this tropic port
Aboard this tiny ship.

The mate was a mighty diving man,
The skipper brave and sure.
Six divers set sail that day
For a three dive tour, a three dive tour.

The weather started getting rough,
The tiny ship was tossed,
If not for the courage of the fearless crew
The explorer would be lost, the explorer would be lost.

The ship set ground on the shore of this uncharted tropical isle
With KevDM
The Skipper too,
The MOFer and the nonMOFer,
Two DNYers,
The Chairman and Joystershell,
Here on Boyton Beach.

So this is the tale of the castways,
They're here for a long, long time,
They'll have to make the best of things,
It's an uphill climb.

The first mate, Kev, and the Skipper too,
Will do their very best,
To make the others comfortable,
In the tropic island nest.

No phone, no lights no motor cars,
Not a single luxury,
Like Robinson Crusoe,
As primative as can be.

So join us here each week my freinds,
You're sure to get a smile,
From eight stranded castways,
Here on "Kevin Metz's Isle."

:rofl3: OMGosh! I think you've rivaled Wayward Son's rendition of Hotel California with this one. Priceless! :rofl3:
