I posted a few pictures from the Mizpah a couple of days ago. Jupiter Dive Center visited the MK 111 in Jupiter yesterday and the following are shots of the Goliath Grouper we saw. While the photos are not great, they'll give you a feel for what we encountered. Compared to the Mizpah in WPB, there were even more grouper on the this wreck and the giant fish allowed the divers to approach a bit closer. I bet I saw 30 or so. Additionally, had the pleasure of meeting SB'er Cooltech who frequently posts photos in the Blue Heron Bridge thread.

Hey, what am I, chopped liver? Hrmph! See if I buddy with YOU again!!! :) (Great to meet and dive with you, actually!)

It was a great dive; since we dived the whole day in Jupiter, we got to do it twice!!!

Also, there were several lionfish on the wreck as well.....there were no divers with appropriate gear to kill them, so unfortunately, they survived for now.

The dive was awesome, and I don't think any pics could do justice to the immense numbers of Goliath Groupers and the mackeral groupies that enshouded them like locusts. One definitely has to experience the dive to appreciate the full impact they have upon divers. I for one am looking forward to more encounters!

Sunday dive with the Goliath Grouper is something u have to see specially with a great
group of divers :lotsalove:

Yeah, we'll have to get anotherSB group together again to dive soon! :D

I perched at the top of a pylon in the middle of the dive. Between 4 pylons I counted 32 Goliath Grouper at that time. There were more still on the wreck itself (I could hear them thumping).

If you looked away from the wreck onto the sand, you could see a good number of Southern Rays around the area as well.

I had my lobster snare and I was ready to capture one of the lion fish, but by the time I came around the corner they had left visual sight and didn't return for the rest of the dive :shakehead:

It was great diving with everyone I knew and meeting other SBer's I've conversed with on the boards but never met. I'm sure we'll get to harass Sandy again real soon :D
