That is a good idea!!!!! I will forewarn you that the stripe on your dive flag will most likely be flesh color rather than white. White does not do well in skin and fades really fast so most tattoo artists don't use it. It will look really good with your name in there though. I have one and my dive flag has just flesh for the stripe and it still looks good. The top of your foot is a painful place though. Thats what I hear anyway. I don't have one there.

I wonder if it hurts more than getting a tat on your lower back. I have one and it felt like the needle was hitting my spine most of the time. Too bad about the white part.

Personally I think leg tats are hideous. However a small dive flag on the inside above the ankle would be cool.

I'm going to be the one that says, "Don't do it". Back when I wore huge bell bottomed blue jeans it was cool -- then it became uncool and I changed my pants. Back when I wore my hair in a shag type style, it was cool. When it became uncool, I got it cut.

With tats.... forever.

Celebrate your weight loss by spending the tat money on a dive or some equipment. Or BUY a dive flag!

Or get something pierced instead -- at least you can take it out or change it when it gets old and tired.

That said --if you do it anyway use a good shop that utilizes sterile techniques. Tats and hepatitis C are forever.

I dont have any tats and im 46. When I was a youth only prisoners, sailors and some bikers had them. Of couse that has changed and some are beautiful works of art, some are plain and some are hideous. I have not ruled one out for myself completely but at my age what I pick shoud suit me the rest of my life. Now if Id have picked on e when I was 18 or so, I know I would be sorry now. Tastes change but tatoos dont. Chears !

I'm in my early 40s with three grown children, 2 granchildren and two more grandchildren due at the end of this year. I do own my own business. That's why I'm thinking the foot/leg area. It will only be visible when I wanted to and can cover it easy when meeting with a client. I personally would get a bunch of tatoos but I wouldn't mind one or two more. Only time will tell. My children already think I'm crazy for scuba diving so a tatoo won't make them blink. My husband has two and my youngest (he's in the Air Force) has one on an arm of a cross that say's "Only God Can Judge Me". I agree with him.:)

I understand what you mean about "forever". I have been thinking about this for almost two years. So it's not a whim. I don't do much on a whim. And never buy anything unless I do research on it. This month I bought and octo a computer and a new bag. I will be going to the keys next month. I REALLY want the tatoo. So I will be getting it. Thank you for your words of wisdom.:)
