Hoosier - as of now all the wreck dives are planned as standard no deco dives to be followed by a reef dive. Conch Republic does schedule double header wreck dives, but you have to arrange them in advance (and have the proper qualifications etc). This gives the qualified divers the option to do one long dive and others two shorter dives on the same wreck. Call Brenda, but I am not positive that they have doubles for rent - they do have larger single steel (100's) available. If I am going to dive I might even be coxed into letting somebody dive one of steel 95's (I plan on diving HP 100's).

As far as suit thickness, it is each to its own, but I would say 5mm would be a starting point for most, with many of the locals still diving 7 mm.

An hour and half would be a minimum to get you to KL but a bit iffy down to Tavernier. Do not speed once you hit the new bridge over Jewfish Creek and there is still construction on the 18 mile stretch. If you are renting a car at the Miami airport you will need to factor 1 hour from the time your flight lands as the car rental locations are off-site (with lots of construction in that area) and you will need to take a shuttle bus.

Thanks for your reply..... It gives some clue.. a 95s is tempting. :)

As for an exposure suit, if then, do you think a trilaminated DS is too much?

Yes, I will rent a car, but I will be in Miami a couple of days before Saturday.
Hmm... I think I should take off at least two hours early from Miami to be on time....:blinking:

I am all booked for this weekend! I ended up using my Hilton points to stay at their Key Largo facility for free. :D

Due to my travel schedule, I will not be diving the afternoon dive on Sunday (there's not one listed here, but I think there was on the other thread), just the Sunday morning dive before I head back here to the Space Coast.

However, I have booked myself for the 1:00pm dive on Friday the 20th with Conch, (as well as the night dive), just FYI in case anyone else wants to join. Destination for that afternoon dive is currently listed as TBD on the Conch calendar. Hopefully just a couple of nice reefs to make up for all the metal I'll be seeing the rest of the weekend with this group.

I'm still on for the Friday night dive too, per the original schedule.

See y'all there...

Way to go Fritz.

How would you guys feel about a double dip on the Eagle on Sunday? I'll bet we can talk em into it :)

Just to make everyone aware that there is only one diver booked for the night dive, so that may not be taking place. We need at least 4 to run that trip.

Good Diving,

Now that's a very good idea.

It just so happens that El Zee last dove on New Years Eve plus she'll be breaking in her new BP/W so a few relaxing reef dives before we'll be overdosing on wrecked heavy metal would be very worthwhile... :)

Given the fact that currently there's only one signed up for the night dive, it's getting doubtful... :depressed:

:hmmm:
If the night dive is cancelled, we'll be diving on Sunday afternoon as well. That would give us three deep wreck dives (Eagle, Eagle, Duane) followed by one reef dive. Even when we'd be on Nitrox 32% for the entire day, that would be a bit too much nitrogen loading for my taste.

We'd be quite happy with Eagle, reef, Duane, reef for the Sunday.

So ideally, this would be our weekend...
