3 cylinder rental is not a problem at sport chalet. If you will check your cylinders as you should
before leaving. We will be very happy to top off any low cylinder.

Don:

I used to have all kinds of problems with getting good fills from the Lake Pleasant Sports Chalet. I believe it was because the staff doing the work there were inexperienced and not divers to know or care. However, now that Rueben, Willy and Glenn are there I get really good fills and always leave with with cool tanks at 3K.

Glad to hear your fills are better. No excuses, but any new operation sometimes get the yips.
All of our scuba people have PSI certs. on Vis, and fill station operations. Please let me know if any other problems occur. Thank you

Don

Wednesday Night Dive at Vista Point.

Steve and I will be diving Vista Point Wednesday night (08/13/08). We are meeting at 6:30 p.m. on the east side of the boat ramp (the lower area adjacent to the boat storage facility at the top of the hill). With a relatively short surface interval, I anticiapte that we will be able to do 2 dives.

Anyone interested is more than welcome to join us.

Regards, Bill

Wish I could join Bill....but will have to miss this one!!! You all have a great time....
A few of us will be out there on Friday the 22nd for an afternoon dive, a early evening dive, and a night dive!!!

where do you guys meet up for dives at vista point? the only place i have dived has been scorpion bay, so i'm not too sure about the area

Vista Point is on the east side of the lake within the confines of the marina.

Go west on 74 toward the lake. On the north side of the road is a sign identifying the road affording access to the marina (87th Avenue?).

Enter the marina and take the first right. Go north to the stop sign and make a left. You will see a sign on your left which identifies the Vista Point area.

We are going to set up on the east side of the concrete boat ramp. There is a road to the right which affords access down to this area.

You are welcome to join us.

Regards, Bill

Not being very experienced with the layout of this lake other than cert dive last weekend, I can say that the Desert Tortoise spot and boat launch near Vista Point look nothing like this map image. I think the water is FAR lower than when this image was captured. To get to Vista Point Parking, when you approach the main boat ramp, do you turn right, then get on desert (non paved) rds to Vista Parking site ?

I think you are thinking of the west side of the lake...that is were Desert Tortoise is.... you need to go to the Marina area on the east side of the lake...the road I believe is Pleasant Harbor Blvd... anyway it is on the side of the lake you come to first... the gate fee is $6.00....on this side.... You go through the gate make a right go to the end of the road to a stop sign and make a left...to the top of the hill you will see a sign that says Vista Point...go up the dirt road and it winds around as the map shows you and walla you are there!!!

Here is a map to the Marina side of the lake to Vista Point....
