You know you're a diver when 8 days worth of clothing, underwear, and toiletries fits neatly in your carry-on bag... but you still need two full-sized suitcases.

When "8 days worth of clothing" is a really just 2 t-shirts and 2 pairs of shorts.
 
New one for me, I just got back from a trip where I paid more for excess baggage than I did for the air tickets.

Not flying as much as I used to and so I just lost my gold status which gave me the first 25kg of excess for free. That really pushed up the trip price.

On that note,

You know you're a scuba diver when you buy a first class ticket because with 3 free bags, it is cheaper than an economy ticket + baggage fees :)
 
you stay under water for longer than 5 minutes----@ a time....
