Absolutely. Get some fins that fit in your luggage. I have some ancient Mares - just two channels, that are shorter than the Quattros. And that's why I keep them. Good sales websites give dimensions, take your luggage to a dive shop - maybe some will fit diagonally. And there is always Ebay for old Mares. Unless you need to propel yourself at hypersonic speed.I would say, pack your fins and boots in your luggage. They aren’t going to damaged in transit. Unless they are obscenely long they will fit in most bags. Rental gear that doesn’t fit is a terrible way to ruin something that is supposed to be fun. I bring all my own gear except lead and tanks. Relying on some random dive op to have comfortable gear that is working order is a fools errand.
Lycra socks probably aren’t worth much on their own. Buy neoprene socks. they will offer a lot more protection than Lycra. You can also wear them over other socks for additional layering
I do the same thing when I’m traveling- just throw on a pair of dirty socks as a base layer as soon as my feet start getting rubbed.I have the same problem if I kick a lot or multiple days diving. I have thin cotton socks under my booties that seemed to fix the issue. And bandaids.
