Waterproof D7X Is this the correct size? or is it too big? 😱

Wow! Arctic and Antarctic? Tell us more. Sorry, not trying to hijack your original intention, but very curious about the dives!

Haha no worries. I'm starting in all this world and I'm doing my PhD in polar and marine biology. I'm going to start with the Arctic (if everything goes well) and then the Antarctic to collect benthic samples. So, probably I'm going to be using this forum a lot.

Both look more or less alright. Just make sure you are wearing the thickest undergarment you're gonna use when sizing.
The magic word for undergarments is "layers".

Thin synthetic wicking base layer, thin fleece layer as a mid layer, and then the thicker fleece or wool or thinsulate layer.

I use a falcon thermal layer, bare ultrawarmth base layer and waterproof body2x layer under my d7x in winter here. (about 4°C)

I tried it again with a thick undergarment, and I can do the same with both; the only difference is the boots (The M/L one still has 1/1,5 cm extra). I'm not sure what's preferable.

Do you like the waterproof body2x? I also hear good comments about the santi bz400.

I could choose the boots, so actually I do not really know how to suggest that. But I can give my impression.

I do have a BZ400x, very happy but as I said no comparisson. 6°C was the coldest, however just say about 20min, I had with my drysuit. It did at most feel a little fresh, but really very ok. And i just had a thin base layer. Using additonal merino middle layer and a thin base layer would make it even better.
I wear the Santi Primaloft socks. I did not feel the cold at all, it felt warm! However they need big shoes.
I need to push my feet into the boots a little bit, when I have them plus some thinner base layer socks. Then they are good fitting, so it does not feel uncomfortable or some pressing anywhere.
If I just use a thick sock instead of the primaloft (say for summer) my feet wobble a bit, so would move by about 0.5 cm if i go down a hill.

Having said this, I again want to stress I have it new and no comparisson.
In my semi-dry with a vest I did shiver at these conditions, especially the feet have been cold.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I know it isn't very easy with pictures. I record some videos and I can do the same with boots, the only difference is the boots (The M/L one still has 1/1,5 cm extra with the merino socks haha ).

Extra space in the boots will make it harder to dive imo

The waterproof 2x works for me so far, I do not have experience with the santi.
If it's the shoe size your worried about, the tickest and warmest socks I could find were the hotfoot pro by fourth element.
I do use ski-socks underneath them.
I wouldn't get too large shoes, then your foot can easily flip out of the shoe while finning. (especially when wearing thinner socks in warmer waters)
1.5cm sounds like too much to me.
