I know a guy who lost his adapter; he's having the same probs getting it replaced. :(
That's awful, but not altogether unexpected. I hope that guy finds some resolution there.
I know I'd lose mine. I've lost the official GoPro miniUSB cable like 6 times in the 8 months I've had it. I keep finding it, but with no consistency.

No, there's no cover. It's wet compatible.
Well that's good.

No sign of corrosion as yet.
There's no way of determining whether it'll hold up or not, and I'm definitely not saying it won't....but I'd suggest you keep an eye on the corrosion. A research project I worked with was an autonomous underwater glider. Some of the wet-matable connectors were fine against corrosion. Some were not. They took MUCH better care of it than I do my scuba gear. I mean, my scuba gear is life support....but that glider had like 4 PhDs and a few Masters degrees riding on it :D

Doesn't it charge off a generic micro-usb charger? Those things are everywhere.

Kinda. The side of the unit has a 4-pin wet-compatible charge/data port. You plug in an adapter to it, and then plug a microUSB adapter to that. Without the adapter, you're screwed.

I also think earlier units had that 4-pin connector to BIG usb in one shot instead of a microUSB middle-man.

Cool, I will do. Cheers for the advice.

.... a bulky $370 bottom timer.

Gordon Bennett!!!! $370.00 for a BT with an uncertain delivery time as well as an unknown track record.
What is wrong with wait and see? Too much dosh.

I made are the mistake of buying a new to the market computer a few years ago, it had major issues and eventually was scrapped. I won't be doing that again. Lucky for me the company were stand up and offered me a full refund.

I wound never buy anything from xDeep again. I have been waiting since March 18. xDeep needs to just stop selling computers and focus on their sidemount. My $400 is just sitting in the retailers special savings account for the fools (people like me) who has ordered them.

xDeep will b in Miami this weekend and I going to confront them about this problem with a new X1 in my hand!
