How far of a walk is Laguna Sea Sports from Heisler Park? Mapquest is showing a couple of blocks. Is that right?

Well it looks like I will be missing this wrinkles dive
(a shame, what with wrinkles actually attending and all). I have been having equalisation problems with my left ear, and I have a barotrauma injury now which showed up as bleeding from the ear after my last dive.
I don't think it is too bad but I will be resting up a bit to give it a chance to heal before getting into the water again.

Have a good one; I hope the red gunk disappears before saturday!

Well, all you guys may be up to a walk from Heisler to Deadman's in gear, but I can tell you I am not :11: !! That is a long haul, I walked it last year (it's not too bad without gear)...

We may check out conditions at Deadman's first to see what it looks like... we will be there at 7 or so...

So are we diving Heisler or Deadmans  Ross, Tom, and I plan on being there around 6:30...the question is WHERE is THERE? I guarantee you that parking will be a ****** at Heisler if you don't get there early.....so we are parking at Diver's Cove.

Yeah, it's only a couple of blocks. I haul my tanks back and forth on a dolly.

Otter,
Between the main "public" beach and Deadmans is another Heisler Beach sign infront of a large raised area with picnic benches, two bbqs and a restroom facility. This spots allows us to setup, deal with all of our food and gear and easily get to the water.

I'm sure everyone who has dived in the area is familiar with the spot (probably more so than I am) but for anyone who is driving to the area and hasn't been there before, if you are coming north take PCH until you come to Cliff drive and turn right (or turn left if you are coming from the south), keep going on Cliff drive until you see a size able grass area as described above. If you make it diver's cove you have gone too far.

See http://www.lagunaseasports.com/divesite/coast.asp for a map of the area.

Also be sure to keep an eye out for our banner which headhunter will be bringing with him whenever he shows up.

Street parking is available but it fills up early. Be sure to bring plenty of quarters as it's all meters. You can find free parking on the sidestreets but be courteous of those people who live in the area by not parking in their driveways or blocking their cards.

I actually get to attend my first Wrinkles Dive!!! My boss is a lot like the one in Office Space. He waits until the end of the day Friday to let me know that I have to work Saturday. I didn't even see him today. :D
I'll be there at O'dark thirty with donuts. I have too many errands to run later, so I'll make an early dive or two and sneak away before most of you get there. Who wants my parking space?

For those of you diving/wanting to dive deadman's early, I will be meeting up with 2 or 3 other people at 7AM by the North stairs.... All are welcome (I know its early, but will still be fun...)... If someone else wants to meet me at Heisler, I am bringing a luggage cart to haul my tank/backplate over to crescent, and have room for one other tank... That way we wont lose our parking spaces... Let me know if you are interested...

I am interested but may not be able to get to Heisler Park until about 7am. If you haven't left by then, I wouldn't mind joining you. I will try to get there a little earlier, but I need/want some sleep ;) .

If I don't make it, have a nice dive.

Phil
