Hey Christian on the area where it says people attending it still shows last months date.
Thanks Roger! That was a little "cut and paste" oversite. ;)

Christian,
I see that we are still in need of some grub. Go ahead and pencil me in for the hot dogs and buns.

OK...we need to actually decide if we're going to use Heisler Park or Crystal Cove as a base of operations.

I've heard talk in this thread about meeting in one of these two areas and we need to make decision.

Let me know who wants which location in this thread and I'll post the decision in the first post of this thread.

I'll give it until Saturday night and post what people want either really late on Saturday or sometime on Sunday.

Let me know.

My opinion:

Heisler Park is more user friendly. The picnic area is closer to the diveable sites, the parking is closer to the diveable sites, the access is shorter and less steep to the diveable sites.... do we detect a pattern here?? (And... is it divable or diveable? Brain freeze.)

Also, I don't know if we can have in & out privileges for the parking at Crystal Cove.

All things considered for flexibility of dive sites and easier access, I vote for Heisler Park. It is even possible to walk a short way and get free parking. The only downside is the need to move a few cars every few hours to avoid parking tickets in the metered spots.

Here are the items on the list not claimed by anyone yet:

  • Charcoal, matches
  • Propane stove (to heat up water for Hot Chocolate and Instant Coffee, etc.)
  • Hot Chocolate and Instant Coffee
  • One more Side Dish
  • 2 more dessert items
  • Hamburgers
  • Hamburger buns

Let me know which items you want to bring (or share in bringing) if you are attending, but have not yet signed up to bring anything.

Thanks.

Christian

Only 12 signups so far.

I vote for Heisler Park as well, for the same reasons Debbie said. I got a ticket last time, so let's be extra careful with parking (I will be). Bring your quarters!!! Perhaps we could do the 1st dive at deadman's like last time, then do the rest of the dives around the park area.

Kelphelper has spoken. Since she is an OC diver, she probably knows what she is talking about. At least more than I do. so lets go with heisler park! It worked great last time.

Deadman's reef as a 1st dive sounds good. Arrive between 7 & 7:30, start suiting up by 7:30AM, in the water before 7:45? or is a 1/2 hour earlier better...
