We're in Bonita Springs right now (west coast of FL near Naples) and last night on the news... they showed a gas station that was ALREADY out of gas!?! and a grocery store already out of BATTERIES and WATER. Holy hoarding!! We're heading back to FLL on thursday... hopefully sanity prevails until then.

Anyone up for a trip to Venice beach this weekend?

That's what Michelle says (to me) every day.

Spectacular and favorable are not good words in a hurricane forecast.

Wilma is quite the aggressive lady.
Her winds are at 173 MPH sustained with 212 MPH gusts.
Her central pressure of 882 mb is the lowest pressure ever recorded.
Her forward movement is at 7 MPH - once she hits she'll stay a while
She will hit Cozumel and the Riveria Maya with Category V strength on Thursday
Cancun will probably flood worse than New Orleans.
Maria el Gordo, Pinar del Rio, Fort Myers, the Everglades, and Key West will be on her bad side.
She is expected to follow Charlie's footsteps across Florida.
Take a look at how she organized herself from a mass of swirling clouds into a textbook killer in less than 24 hours.

What are the chances our shop trip to Rainbow River and Blue Grotto this weekend will get canceled?

Where are they...?

Anyone thinking about going to Cozumel, Cancun, Play del Carmen, etc for the next week should have already made other plans - unless you're with an emergency relief agency. You'd think the horror stories from the last hurricane to hit the Yucatan would have gotten that idea across, but maybe some missed them...?

Whatever and whoever survives this storm will be challenged enough to take care of themselves and the people who could not get away.

Roatan is getting hammered pretty good right now. Reports of lights out and signs down. We're going down on Sat. and although Wilma will be past there by then, I'm concerned about the damage that will be done.
