I know enough about them to think they are spoiled, rich, and stupid. Since they couldn't bear to miss their Spring Break trip to Cabo (spoiled) and they couldn't book flights there because of the travel restrictions, they chartered a plane to take them there (rich) and returned by commercial air. Since returning nearly half of them so far have tested positive for the coronavirus, so they exposed their fellow passengers on the flights they returned on and brought it with them back to Austin, where I live (stupid). So, yeah, I know enough about them to form an opinion.

Maybe you should do some reading on the subject before you make wild assumptions? Especially since you live in Austin?

The trip was booked through a college travel company well before any travel restrictions and the trip itself was before the federal travel advisory. Parents and students that expressed concerns about the trip to the travel company (JusCollege) were told Mexico was very safe and they shouldn't worry about COVID-19 exposure. They were also told anyone cancelling over COVID-19 exposure fears wouldn't get a refund.

Consider me chastised (although I did do some reading about it that didn't say what you did), but IMO it was unwise for them to go to Mexico during this time no matter what the travel company was telling them, refund or no.

I have no sympathy for any of the kids that got COVID-19 but I feel for anyone they transmitted it to. They should have known better.

There was an abundance of handwriting on the wall. I moved my office to my home March 12 and began sheltering at home the next day. I didn't believe those "leaders" for a minute.
