After nearly 20 years of diving the people who I still see at the beach all the time are the ones who still see the beauty in a hermit crab pearched on a rock not the ones who can hold perfect trim in a silted out lake and do OOA drills to prefection.

... and sometimes those folks are one and the same ...

I prefer basing my opinions of people on who they are ... as individuals ... rather than making sweeping judgments based on what agency they trained with or what equipment they chose to dive. Isn't that what you're asking of them? So why would you not want to give them the same consideration in return?

After putting some more thought to the subject there may be another reason to like the integrated octo. Has anyone considered the weight of an AirII vs that of a standard power inflator plus a standard octo and hose. There may be a slight weight advantage when packing for travel on an airline. This may vary dependant on the models of integrated octo, power inflator and hose used in the comparison but today with the extra bite the airlines put on us every bit counts.

I don't think the AIRII concept goes far enough;

AIRIII - AAS + LPI + Strobe

AIR IV - AAS + LPI + Strobe + Dive Computer

AIR V - AAS + LPI + Strobe + Dive Computer + Reel

AIR VI - AAS + LPI + Strobe + Dive Computer + Reel + Knife

AIR VII - AAS + LPI + Strobe + Dive Computer + Reel + Knife + Emerg Beacon

AIR VIII - AAS + LPI + Strobe + Dive Computer + Reel + Knife + Emerg Beacon + Iphone

....

I knew I should have waited. I have an Airsource III and it doesn't have a strobe.

If it works as well as the AIR2 then why not.
I'm glad you have realised how great the AIR2 is. Takes a big man to admit he is wrong.
