It is difficult for some folks to make the step from getting certified to diving regularly. We can all understand this.

The journey starts with "Learn to dive for $149". Add personal gear, boat fees, perhaps a medical exam, a night in a West Palm Beach hotel, and that grows into $500+.

At certification, they are told that "AOW" is next, and pretty much expected. By then, they also have an appreciation for what dive gear costs or rents for. The $149 has grown by a factor of ten, and they are unable or unwilling to proceed.

Hopefully, they are left with a good experience and return to dive later.
