What are the odds that HOG/EDGE comes out with a 5th LP port turret bolt for that reg, similar to what Apeks have for the DST? That'd make for really nice hose routing for doubles.

I just set up my doubles with 2 HOG D1 Cold today and routing is just fine.

I'm sure routing is fine as is. However, with the turret bolt LP port you can all but eliminate the bends in the hoses coming off the 1st stage. Like this:

How about the balance chamber of the D1 Cold - does it seem to leave plenty of room to reach your valves?

Thanks,

Henrik

I asked that same question as was told they were considering/looking into it. It's too bad they don't have them now. HOG stuff had some great deals today. I might have just pulled the trigger on a new set of regs for back gas.:D

I will be watching anxiously for a 5th port reg, but am also concerned about reaching the valves over the balance chamber.

I'll take pic of it tomorrow. I thought routing horizontally did just fine w/o bends in my opinion.

But keep in mind that today it was my first time setting up and diving doubles. So I am still doing the basics. I had first stage vertical and I could reach the valves just fine.

Does anyone know which manufacturer makes regs for HOG?

My best guess is that the OEM is Ocean Divers Supply in Taiwan.

ODS

I also guess, like Dive Rite and Salvo, Oxycheq, etc., that HOG specs their own regs (see posts by cerich), then has them manufactured. I would not automatically assume that the rebuild kits are identical.

NOTE: I use the HOG singles wing, and it is really well designed and constructed, so I'd imagine their regs are 1st rate as well. If I was in the market for a new reg, I'd take a long look at the HOG.

Best wishes.

Thanks iztok - never even thought of the first stages vertical. Shows what I know ...
