I ordered (2) of the second stage regs from DRIS on Friday.
Do I need these extra second stages, No.
Do I want these extra second stages , Hell yes.
For $54.00 each for an adjustable second stage that looks to be well made, and I can pick up locally new from DRIS with warranty its a not even a question.
I don't know when I will put these regs in service, buts its nice to know I have them if I need them.
Most likely I will use these seconds on my pony set ups. I now have Scubapro MK17's with R190's.
If I didn't allready have doubles, I would have purchased a set.

Does anybody anything about the availability of service kits for these regs? Or can you actually use the Apeks kits?

Our sale on the D1s runs through Sunday night and does come with the Delrin Din Cap  Most of the other stuff was only for Friday and is coming off the site later today, but the Edge/Hog Sale is good until Sunday

And thanks to everyone for their purchases, you too Tortuga! We sold well over 75 of these regs worldwide, so you will have LOTS of reviews soon on the performance. Those that haven't picked one up, don't wait too long...this sale won't last forever and they will be going back up in price.

We will also be traveling to do the reg repair class, as one of my techs is already one of the few Instructors for this TDI/Hog Reg Class. Find 5-10+ of your buddies in your area that have the reg, and we will come out there to teach the 2 day class for you and teach you how to repair your own HOG Reg :D Depending on how many students there are, will determine the costs of the class

I hope it is so, even though the D1's are not on sale anymore on your site. The Delrin cap do not show to be part of the DIN set. If you have it as part of the set show that. There is a value of it too.

I have sent you an enquiry trough your site. (I guess it's night now in IL) so I'll get an answer later on.

Thanks

Delrin caps are part of the regs package from the store AFAIK. I got it with all 3 of my D1s by default.

There is an Edge/HOG Equipment Service course available through TDI: take the class and you can buy annual service kits from any dealer. There are some restrictions on who can take the class (you have to be at least 18 years old, own the regulator, be a certified nitrox diver and also hold a technical rating) but this is definitely something new for those with the inclination to work on their own gear.

Don't be fooled by appearances: many high-performance diaphragm regulators look much the same. That doesn't mean the D1 is an Apeks clone, it's not. Some of the Apeks parts won't fit properly or meet performance specifications.

The ONLY way you would get a new HOG First stage without a Delrin Cap is if the dealer removes it. They come with them. I agree there is value to them, that is why they are there.

NO u\you can NOT use APEKS kits, kits are available no worries.

you can NOT use APEKS kits

Speaking of Apeks ... are you guys thinking of adding a 5th LP port/turret bolt to your product line :) ?

Thanks,

Henrik
