Aluminum boat hulls last a long time as long as the correct aluminum alloy is used, such as 5456 marine grade. If you use a non marine grade cheap aluminum you might want to have a good life raft close by. Electrolysis usualy attacks aluminum if you have stray current problems and or bad grounds.
