Thanks for all of the replies. Sounds as though the Geo 2.0 isn't as difficult to operate as some of the posters have reported. As long as the online training is good, that might be the ticket. I'll take a look at other computers mentioned, also.

Does anyone know what price the Geo 3.0 will be coming in at? What features does it have over the 2.0?

For convenience and improved performance (In other words stays in place and doesn't need adjustment) I would recommend a computer that fits into a DSS mount https://www.deepseasupply.com/index.php?category=instruments

I have the Aladin 2G and am happy with it. The numbers are not the largest though. I wanted the average depth and second timer. My friend just got a Zoop with a DSS mount.

Aladin tec 2g is nice for about $300, for an extra $20 get a bungie mount too. It is a simple computer gives you everything you need without a lot of extras you do not. Nice depth averaging feature.

agreed, also the alladin 2G.

Just got one for backup for my VT3. Haven't dove it yet but it has everything I like. DSS bungee mount is a must.

Another vote for either the Aladin TEC 2G or its 2010 replacement, the Uwatec Aladin 2G.

I like my Tusa IQ-700. It is a few years old now so you should be able to get one cheap.
Tusa DC Hunter Wrist Dive Computer (IQ-700)

Leisure Pro is about $225. I like the big numbers and it will do nitrox. The transfer cable still costs $100, I have been able to live without it though.

Again, great feedback! I see that Tusa IQ700 is only $225. Is this the same computer as the IST GP3000?

The newer version Tusa IQ900 increases to $390. That's quite a jump.

I looked at the Aladin 2G. Are the numbers as big as the Tusa? The Tusa also looks like the Zeagle, but the Zeagle is a lot more expensive. Thanks.

If you look at the link from ianr33 it lists a few different names for the Tusa IQ-700. There are probably a few threads on scubaboard listing the different names it is sold as.

the 2.0 only came out last year I believe - I wouldn't think a 3.0 would be coming any time soon - did you find something to the contrary? I think Oceanic should be releasing the Atom 3.0 sometime soon, but that is quite a jump in price range.

That's even cheaper than the link I posted!

I had one for a while. They're good computers. Reasonably conservative but not stupidly so. Algorithm is very Buhlmann but that only matters if doing deco dives. Having the capacity for 2 gases makes this a great (Florida) cave diving computer where many dives are done on 32% and O2.

Early ones had some issues with water getting past the O rings on the buttons and trashing the electronics. Presume that was fixed a long time ago.

A lot of computer for not much money.
