What world are you on? Agreed that Atomic is easy to fix and maintain as well as Spro, but for finding a LDS that does Atomic compared to Spro is the hard part. Spro is more widely spread than Atomic........for now.
I note that if you were to purchase your atomic regs FROM your LDS, you're far more likely to be able to have it serviced at the very same place you bought it from. Ditto for any reputable authorized internet dealers, such as scuba toys. You buy it, they service it. I see no real problem here unless you like to buy mission critical gear while on vacation in far away places, or move a long distance from your (now former) LDS.

Alex, I agree with Zak. Most manufacturers have free parts replacement plans, Aeris included.
Even so don't you want to clean the salt off, have the internal parts visually checked for damage or unusual wear, tune the reg, etc? Or are you just wanting more options as to who and how your regulator is worked on?

As for top regs I always have liked getting my hands on every reg I can. By the time I figure out what I like best I have my eyes on something new, lol. I guess regs are my favorite piece of dive equipment.

Good comments Sing J and Zak. I agree. I suppose I picked up my car the other week from service and was charge big bucks for not much. And yes, they do not change spark plugs for free (they do not even fill up the wiper fluid and still charged 300 EUR) and then I remembered this thread or dive mag article in Europe on regs once, but it must have involved a reg where parts are not included in the warranty (if this still exists). I was curious if this was still/ever an issue for any manufacturer.
Regs are also my favourite dive equipment. It is beautiful engineering at its best and I do have mine serviced regularly, coz I love my regs.

Kirby Morgan SuperFlow (helmet optional) LOL: It has been dive tested to over 1600 feet, and cost as much as my first car.

Well if any of you have any Scpro parts sitting around I beleive I have no less the 12 customers who need Scpro Regs serviced and Scpro doesn't have the parts Kits...nore can we find them at any dealers....and most of them are less than 4 years old...
Atomic Regs all use the same kits....so if you have a 4 year old B1 the kit for the new B2,Z2, T2 will work.....that easy....Yes not every LDS carries Atomic...but every car dealer can't work on Mercedes/BMW either..You buy a Porsche/Ferrari for preformance not because every Grease Monkey can work on it.

Is this question the same as "Who makes the BEST one?"

Or in other words, which one is the best and who makes it?

My vote is for Atomic B2 and I also use the Atomic SS1 - the SS1 is alot more expensive than some of the regular Octos but it's nice being able to get rid of an "extra hose".

I love my Poseidon Cyklon 5000, old design (so they say) but realy breathe well. Then on the other hand, I am a big Poseidon fan, call me ignorant.

The following regulator brands all have a model or two that would probably be considered the best based on the opinions of those who have responded:

Poseiden
Atomic
ScubaPro
Apeks
Oceanic
Aqualung
Mares
Zeagle

I am sure that OMS, Diverite, Aeris, Sherwood, Beuchat, Genesis, SeaAir, XS Scuba, Tusa, Cressisub, Dacor, and Bob's do it yourself tincan regulator company, will all have contentions with this list.

What regs are you unable to get kits for?
