hlsooner,

Good call. RE: your comment on internet friendly policies. I don't know exactly what the Oceanic policy is? However I can tell you Mares from day 1 has always understood the importance of and embraced the internet within reason. Even when it was definitely unpopular amongst many dive store owners that hadn't quite made the mental jump to understanding the internet and realizing it wasn't going away. I only mention this because I have been quiet on the thread re: Aqualung and Phil Ellis. Although I found all 12473936 pages good reading!

I don't want to get off on a tangent nor hijack this thread, or even worse rehash another thread here, so back to who is the top regulator brand? Anyone?

Best Regards,

Well, the first regulator I bought is still the regulator I dive...Zeagle ("50D" first stage and "Tech" second stage). 10 years close to 200 dives in fresh and salt water, it has been serviced regularly and has never had a problem. With proper care, the question may be irrelevent, but based on my experience and mine alone, my vote goes to Zeagle.:D

If you bought it 10 years ago, then you have an Apeks (with a Zeagle name on it.)
I think Andy just likes to stirr some dung, that's the reason why he asks the same question again and again. Nevertheless, these "best regulator" threads have an excellent entertainment value.

Well, if it is an Apeks...then it's an Apeks. I don't care either way...it is a wonderful regulator and continues to serve me well. As for Andy's threads...most of them are enjoyable and keep the discussion lively...isn't that why we all read and post here so much?

Now back to my deconstructive lurking...:coffee: .

I don't know if it can be truly resolved. The entire topic is highly subjective.

yup... but it does give you a sense of what people "think" the top regs are
(of course, you can't prove it)

Andy,

You're a Lawyer, surely you can craft a question better than the one that you started this thread with! :D
