I am taking another class the end of Aug. It will only be two days but I don't know where to stay. I have seen the list of places but figured some local insight would be better. It will be myself and possibly my fiancé if she decides to tag along.
Looking for something cheap but don't want to be carried away by roaches:D

For cheap, the Executive Inn works. It's not so horribly grimy that you're afraid to touch anything (i.e. toilets and sinks are clean, but I woudn't eat off the floor), and the sheets smell clean, but I always bring my own blanket and pillow, just in case! I think it's $35 a night for a double bed room.

The Country Inn and Suites is much, much nicer...comes with a free continental breakfast, and won't disgust your fiance'...it's around $80 a night, I think...there's an outdoor pool as well.

I stayed at the new Comfort Inn right off the interstate last time I was there (late last summer). got a walk up rate of either $55 or $65/night. I'd stay there again. It's right in front of the Country Inn & Suites that Bama Medic is referring to.

was prob the nicest Comfort Inn I'd ever stayed in. Brand new, just built and the rooms were really nice. Had a fridge and Flat Screen TV and nice bedding. Included breakfast.

(Note: this is not to be confused with the old Comfort Inn that is across the street and is now a "Quality Inn". )

There's a Holiday Inn Express at that exit also, a few fast food places and a Walmart.

Here's pics from their website http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-marianna-florida-FL789

If you want to be around divers it is the executive inn. The is another one across the street but I can't remember the name. I usually stay at a dive buddies house but have stayed at the executive a lot.

I had an assortment of multilegged creatures in bed with me at the America's Inn. Never had such problems at the Executive.

If I were bringin a woman, I'd go for the Comfort Inn, reasonable and very nice for the price.

There's a list of the hotels with web links and phone numbers on my site. Scroll down the link menu on the left. I only list those I haven't heard anything negative about. While the Executive is the most affordable, it isn't near much within walking distance. Your fiancee would probably be happier at one of the I-10 hotels.

Thanks for all the input!

Rob, I didn't realize the list on your website were the better places in town. I assumed it was just a list of all the places in town!

If you want to be a real cave diver you have to stay at the Executive :)

It's a list of most of the places. You'll notice what hotel is not on that list, though... :cool2:
