I don't know when you are going to Curacao in January, but you might look at the Sunscape Resort, an All Inclusive, which is a block from The Dive Bus, has an Ocean Encounters onsite, and the Pierbaii and Car Pile dive sites just outside of the seawall at the hotel. You can dive Pierbaii as shallow as you wish, and I enjoyed numerous dives there, with Car Pile being a little deeper, but easy diving. Snorkeling in the lagoon is pretty good for fish, but not so much for coral. The food was OK, not great, but the facility was nice and comfortable. Considering you do not pay extra for food or drinks, the price may be in your budget. It is now owned by Hyatt, so the food may be better than is was for our 30 day stay in 2022. Good luck.
Thank you! I will look into that now!

I don't mind staying at Coral Estates - I just wasn't sure if there is a good dive shop who could do guided dives for us like the Dive Bus which seems to be far from there!!
Yes Coral Estates has a good diveshop and when I was there a couple months ago they had a divemaster couple from Texas and another divemaster who do guided shore dives. They don’t do boat dives however. I payed around $150 a night for an Airbnb house at Coral Estates.

we stay @ sunscape when in Curaçao. The resort is just ok, the food is just OK, but the house reef is great, Ocean Encounters is a solid dive op, and the location is close to Mambo Beach. we've been 3 times in the last few years, and haven't really had any issues. It's also pretty hard to beat $2000 canadian for a week of AI including direct flights from Toronto.

I stayed at the Sunscape last year. The food is mediocre, but, if you have a rental car, the island is easily navigable(especially with Google Maps) and safe. My wife and I put in miles of snorkeling along the breakwater right at the resort. Like snorkeling and swimming in an aquarium. Very calm water.

We have been staying across the road (okay, a little bit of a hike) at Bon Bini, and can hang at Mombo Beach if we want. A car gets us everywhere, and driving in Curacao is pretty easy.

The only drawback I feel about Bon Bini is a lack of screens... Got bit up pretty bad last time. Is causing me to search elsewhere

Airbnb or VRBO likely in the mix for the next trip...
