What's in/on your BC?

Backup light on each shoulder strap, knife on the waist. I clip an SMB to the back when the dive calls for it.

What all stuff do you have in/on your BC? ie knife, noisemaker? What's something that your glad you have in/on your BC that most people don't think to carry?

My Rebreather, it fits really well on the back of my BC

My left pocket is a pair of EMT scissors, and my dive buddy GW Shark, nick named Bruce (from the movie Jaws). My right pocket is a small pocket knife, flashlight with 4 C cell batteries, a slate with nothing on it, I also have a whistle attached near my low pressure inflator. Sometimes I carry a camera, Next on my list of items is a safety sausage.

1.storm whistle
2. reef hook (for emergencies)
3. reel
4. inflation device

i have a whistle and day/night mirror on the outside and a flashlight (small) in a pocket. I also have the safety sausage attached to my rear dump valve. Hubby carries a knife. I have one, but I have lost 3 already. Sometimes I attach the camera too.

Wait! You've lost 3 knives and he still trust you to carry the camera? What a guy!!

Have you figured how to tell when they're dead?

They seem to expire rather quickly, then don't do anything.

I've found some with a date, but others without . . .

I've never found a date on them. I just replace them every so often. That's a good thought though. The one I have now is probably well past it's useful life; I'm doing a night dive tonight though so I will have a great opportunity to test it out.

A safety sausage attached to the base of my plate, a pair of shears on my right waist strap (long hose tucked underneath), small (4AA light) attached to my right shoulder D ring, scumball attached to my upper right shoulder D ring, sometimes a laser pointer either attached to my left waist D ring, plus console attached to my lower left D ring with a retractor. Depending on camera or not, it will usually be attached to my left waist D ring, with one of those "phone cord" type connectors which can be locked in place.

Knife, Scissors, Small Light, Slate w/ pertinent Info(Boat, Names, Course headings, Freq. Phone Numbers, etc.), Rollup snorkel to provide rescue breaths, while swiming in the over the shoulder position. Snap hook for my fins so that my hands are free when I do a beach entry, DAN Pocket mask, Whistle, signal tube/lift bag, finger reel.

Never learned to use my Dan pocket mask while diving, I guess I should
have taken a more advanced Dan course.

I carry EMT shears, Betty Crocker, whistle and a dive light.
