Octopus holder(skumball) -right D-ring
CD for signalling and a DSMB in one of the pockets.

Small knife on my belt. Sea snips (shears) on my chest strap. Whistle/smb. Small light in pocket. Slate.

'Fitted' scumball on the left hip D-ring for backup reg.
Wetnotes, signal mirror, glowstick with line (whirl one in a circle sometime--makes a huge circle of light...) in right pocket.
Small blunt-tip knife attached to left pocket.
And a diver attached between the left and right pockets, in front of the backplate.

Storm whistle on the inflator, a shaker+pointer deviced (self-made) clip on the D-ring, safety sausage+backup light+slate in my thigh-pocket (I use BP+Wing).

What all stuff do you have in/on your BC? ie knife, noisemaker? What's something that your glad you have in/on your BC that most people don't think to carry?

Mostly standard stuff.

EMT Shears, 9' Orange SMB, 150' finger spool, Jotron Strobe, small flashlight and a folding pocket snorkel to keep the snorkel police happy. 8-)

If it's night, I also bring a big light 8-)

On salt-water dives, I slip a 1/2L bottle of fresh water into one of the back weight pockets (I don't use them for weights).

Have you figured how to tell when they're dead?

They seem to expire rather quickly, then don't do anything.

I've found some with a date, but others without . . .

Wow, that's alot of stuff, you forgot flare gun :D

Flaregun is like smoke charges; too hard to travel with.

Two backup lights
DiveAlert
6' sausage (doubles as 50# lift bag)
dye marker
mirror
whistle
strobe
shears
navslate (compass and slate combo)
spool

Pretty much always:
- Z-knife
- Signal mirror
- Very small backup light (2-AAA LED)
- Small safety sausage
- Slate (Innovative QII magnetic slate lately)
- Shears
- DAN tag
- Storm whistle
- Light (8-AA)

Often:
- Wreck reel
- Finger spool
- Pistol primary light (8-C)

And on inflator hose (is that on the BC or not?),
- Small BC knife

Sounds like a lot, but it's really not ... most of it is small, and much of it slips over straps or into pocket or clips up neatly. With new drysuit, more and more of this is migrating to thigh pockets (finding it is nice to distribute things more, as distinguishing items by touch is harder through heavier gloves).

Cheers,
Walter
