What thickness wetsuit for Socal?

As you've probably read by now, it depends on your tolerance to cold, how many repetitive dives you're doing to how deep and in what season...etc. etc. MaxBottomtime already spelled out the temps.

I mostly dive Southern California and have a bunch of suits...my personal preference for cold/long/many dives is a custom 7mm fullsuit with 5mm at the joints for flexibility, plus a 5mm hooded vest. On easy summer days when not diving deep for too long, I'll dive the fullsuit without the vest, or better yet a custom 5mm fullsuit with attached hood...it's waaaaay comfortable.
